Obesity

Obesity is defined as an excessively high amount of body fat in relation to lean body mass.

Obesity and overweight are chronic conditions and are risk factors for many other chronic medical illnesses.

Diabetes

The pancreas is situated just below the stomach and produces enzymes for the digestion of food, and the hormones insulin and glucagon for the regulation of blood glucose. The pancreas consists of a group of cells called the islets of Langerhans, which produce and store the hormone.

Metabolic Syndrome

Metabolic syndrome is characterized by certain medical conditions that occur together and act as risk factors for heart diseases, stroke and diabetes.
